Keith Alverson, of Chester, S.D., serves as a member of the Corn Board of the National Corn Growers Association, a farmer-led trade association with offices in St. Louis and Washington.
Alverson and his wife, Kari, operate a sixth-generation grain farm with his parents, aunt and uncle, growing 2,600 acres of corn and soybeans.
Alverson serves as board liaison to NCGA’s Stewardship Action Team and sits on the Board of Directors for the Field to Market sustainability initiative on NCGA’s behalf.
Previously, he served as board liaison to the Ethanol Committee, the Production and Stewardship Action Team and on the Finance Committee. A graduate of the association’s Advanced Leadership and Leadership at Its Best programs, he served as chair and vice-chair of NCGA’s Ethanol Committee prior to election to the Corn Board.
At the state level, Alverson currently serves as president of the South Dakota Corn Growers Association. Previously, he served as the vice president of the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council and the vice president and secretary/treasurer of the South Dakota Corn Growers Association.
