NCGA Corn, Ethanol Marketing Wins Two Agrimarketing Awards (5-1-06)
Efforts to promote ethanol and the role of corn in a carbohydrate economy have earned the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) two National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) “Best of NAMA” awards.
NCGA’s 2005 World of Corn publication won first place in “Unique Print Advertising.” The World of Corn is an annual publication featuring statistics and information on the corn industry. The publication demonstrated how corn producers are rethinking the role of corn and how corn reshapes our world in positive ways.
The 2005 World of Corn was distributed to general and agriculture media, farmers and Capitol Hill staff. State corn organizations further promote the publication by distributing it at their meetings and making it available to their members.
NCGA earned a national merit award in the “Overall Public Relations Campaign” category for the Web site www.ethanolfacts.com, which educates consumers about the ethanol industry. Information on E-10, E85 and aviation grade ethanol can be found on the site, as well as quick facts, environment, energy and economic information and links to more information. The Web site averages more than 1,200 pages views each day.
“It is an honor for NCGA to be recognized at the Best of NAMA,” said Mimi Ricketts, director of communications. “Through the generous funding of our state organizations NCGA is able to promote the efforts of corn producers as well as help educate a broad audience on the issues and accomplishments of corn growers. We are grateful for our partnership with Monsanto and their sponsorship of the World of Corn.”
NAMA awards are given to the top agricultural advertising, public relations, print, Web and broadcast campaigns each year. First place and merit awards were given for each category.
