60 Minutes, Dateline Report on Ethanol, NCGA Notes (5-8-06)

CBS’ 60 Minutes and NBC’s Dateline profiled the ethanol industry on May 7, the National Corn Growers Association notes.

60 Minutes’ Dan Rather visited Pine Lake Ethanol in Steamboat Rock, Iowa, and Brazil to chronicle the potential for ethanol in the United States. Dateline’s Stone Philips traveled to Brazil to compare the Brazilian renewable fuels industry with the United States.

“It was good to see ethanol discussed in a fair and balanced manner,” said NCGA CEO Rick Tolman. “There have been several stories lately portraying ethanol in an unfair light. We encourage our growers to view these stories and spread the word about the benefits of ethanol for our nation.”

Growers can access both stories online. The 60 Minutes story is available here. The Dateline story is available here.
