Farm Bill Feedback Form Offers Opportunity for Producer Input, Notes NCGA (5-10-06)
Corn producers unable to attend farm bill field hearings can still be heard. The House Committee on Agriculture this week launched a Web-based farm bill feedback form to give producers the opportunity to have a voice in the development of the next farm policy legislation. The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) encourages corn growers to log on to the form and give their input on how farm programs are working for their farms.
“Having an online feedback form will offer all producers who may not be able to attend the House Agriculture Committee field hearings a chance to be heard on the future of farm policy,” said Steve Pigg, NCGA Public Policy Action Team chairman. “Producers can give their input on what they feel works and what needs are not being met with current farm policy.”
The committee is conducting field hearing throughout the country to gather feedback and review current farm policy as the members prepare for reauthorizing the 2002 farm bill, which expires September 2007. “Because the farm bill policy directly impacts farmers and ranchers it is important to know how farm policy works in practice, it makes sense to hear directly from our producers,” Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte said.

The information submitted to the committee via the Web site will not be part of the congressional record, but will be shared with House Committee on Agriculture members.
