NCGA-sponsored AgriTalk Ethanol Pump Tour Stops in Jacksonville, Ill. (5-25-06)
The AgriTalk Ethanol Pump Tour, sponsored by the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), rolls into South Jacksonville, Ill., on Friday at the Fanco Station on Route 67.
AgriTalk, with host Mike Adams, will broadcast live from 10 to 11 a.m. NCGA Corn Board member and Illinois corn grower Garry Niemeyer will be at the event to help celebrate the opening of the station’s E85 pump.
“The ethanol industry is already able to produce 4.5 billion gallons, and corn growers are hopeful the industry can produce 6 billion gallons by the end of the year with new plants coming online,” said Niemeyer. “The ethanol industry is revolutionizing the farming industry. With new plants coming on line, corn prices are increasing. Ethanol is a prime example of increasing profitability for corn growers.”
Last week, Illinois celebrated the opening of its 100th E85 pump. There are more than 700 E85 pumps at fueling stations across the United States, up from 500 just one year ago.
The next AgriTalk Pump Tour stops include:
* June 9 – Columbus, Neb.
* June 23 – Oakes, N.D.
