NCGA Meets with Opinion and Policy Makers (2-8-07)
Grower leaders from the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) covered Washington, D.C., this week, meeting with government officials and news media about ethanol, the 2007 farm bill and other issues.
The most visible sign was an interview between NCGA President Ken McCauley and anchor Scott Cohn for CNBC. In a wide-ranging conversation, the two discussed production, trade and pricing issues. The interview is available on the CNBC Web site at http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=176569604.
Additionally, NCGA’s Public Policy Action Team met in Washington to research and discuss the next steps for the association’s farm proposal. U.S. Department of Agricutlure Deputy Secretary Chuck Connor discussed farm policy and the 2007 farm bill with the team.
Meanwhile, members of the Ohio Corn Growers Association were also in town this week to meet with officials and receive briefings from NCGA staff.
