NCGA to Hold Farm Bill and Trade Policy Conference in February (1-10-07)
The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) announced plans today to hold a Farm Bill and Trade Policy Conference Feb. 21 – 22 at the Renaissance Hotel at the Airport in St. Louis. The conference will give growers another forum to learn about the upcoming farm bill and related trade topics.
“This conference will be a great opportunity for all growers to become more engaged in discussion of farm policy and trade. We are encouraging all growers to attend,” said NCGA President Ken McCauley. “This is another great opportunity to bring state and county leaders up to speed on the latest policy and market dynamics facing our farming operations in advance of 2007 planting season.”
In addition to sessions on the farm bill and other legislation, the conference will cover such as trade and the latest information on market supply and demand.
Activities kick off with a 6 p.m. reception on Wednesday. On Thursday a full day information and discussion begins with a continental breakfast at 7 a.m. Thursday’s agenda includes:
9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Commodity Title: Farm Bill Update and Discussion
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Farm Bill and Trade
12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Lunch
1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Trade Dynamics
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Other Farm Bill Titles: Update and Discussion
There’s no charge for the conference but registration must be complete by Jan. 31. The Renaissance Hotel is offering a special rate of $104 per room per night (single or double occupancy.)
