NCGA Announces 2007 Inductees to Recruiter Hall of Fame (1-11-07)
As the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) celebrates its 50th anniversary, it has grown from a group that represented a few hundred growers in nine Midwestern states to a vibrant association of 32,000 corn producers in 48 states and Canada.
This enormous growth didn’t occur overnight – and it wouldn’t have happened without the untiring efforts of dedicated grower recruiters across the country. In recognition of those efforts, NCGA’s Grower Services Action Team (GSAT) has named three members to the Recruiter Hall of Fame: Richard Harer of Ohio, Gayle Bergstrom of Minnesota and Barbara Fulcher-Reynolds of Kentucky will be inducted into the NCGA Recruiter Hall of Fame at the Commodity Classic in Tampa, Fla., March 1-3.
Top individual NCGA recruiters are eligible to be voted into the Hall of Fame. These individuals were selected for their long time dedication to growing NCGA and their state association’s membership.
“These recruiters have spread NCGA’s story to hundreds of corn growers across the nation,” said Matt Gibson, NCGA GSAT chairman. “Inducting them into the Recruiter Hall of Fame is our tribute to the hard work they put into making our organization stronger.”
Harer, Bergstrom and Fulcher-Reynolds will be presented with Hall of Fame jackets at the NCGA Awards banquet on March 2
As Hall of Fame members they will be eligible for additional honors. The Hall of Fame recruiter who posts the highest cumulative points during 2007 will also receive a cash award and recognition at the 2008 Commodity Classic. Top individual recruiters will be entered in a drawing for one year’s use of an E-85 FFV vehicle.
Top-recruiting grower members and affiliated state corn associations also will be eligible for FFV drawings. During 2007 state organizations will be eligible to earn a $1,000 grant from NCGA for membership or recruiting functions. State associations must submit a detailed membership plan to NCGA by March 1. State organizations that meet growth targets will be eligible for cash incentives and qualify for entry into a drawing for the use of an E-85 FFV for one year.
The three top recruiters from across the Corn Belt will also receive cash awards toward attendance at the 2008 Commodity Classic, where they will be recognized for their efforts.
NCGA’s membership program is sponsored by the seed brands of Syngenta —Garst, Golden Havest, NK Brand and Syngenta Agrisure traits.
