MIKE LEFEVER

Corn Board Member
Haxtun, Colorado

Mike Lefever, of Haxtun, Colo., serves as a member of the Corn Board of the National Corn Growers Association, a farmer-led trade association with offices in St. Louis and Washington.

Lefever raises exclusively no-till dryland corn on his farm just northeast of Haxtun, Colorado. In addition to working his own land, he also helps his neighbor farm an additional 3,000 acres. While he farms in multiple places, he consistently adopts precision technologies that allow him to grow more using less.

On the national level, Lefever serves on the Governance Committee and as the board liaison to the Animal Ag Alliance. Additionally, he serves as the chair of the Market Access Action Team. Previously, he has served as a member of the Nominating Committee.

A graduate of both Advanced Leadership and Leadership At Its Best, Lefever is a past president of the Colorado Corn Administrative Committee.

Founded in 1957, the National Corn Growers Association represents nearly 40,000 dues-paying corn growers and the interests of more than 300,000 farmers who contribute through corn checkoff programs in their states. NCGA and its 50 affiliated state associations and checkoff organizations work together to help protect and advance corn growers’ interests.
