Jay Schutte

Corn Board Member   Benton City, Missouri

Jay Schutte, of Benton City, Missouri, serves as a member of the Corn Board of the National Corn Growers Association, a farmer-led trade association with offices in St. Louis and Washington.

Schutte farms in central Missouri with his two brothers and his niece’s husband. They raise corn and soybeans in a 50/50 rotation while backgrounding approximately 1,500 head of cattle annually. The family is also involved with two local ethanol plants.

Schutte serves on the NCGA Finance Committee and is an NCGA liaison to the National Pork Producers Council and the Coalition to Protect the Missouri River.

 

He has previously served as chair of NCGA’s Ethanol Action Team, and as a member of the Research and Business Development Action Team and Risk Management Action Team. He is also a past chairman of the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council. past president of Missouri Corn Growers Association and a founding member of Missouri Fertilizer Control Board.

Founded in 1957, the National Corn Growers Association represents nearly 40,000 dues-paying corn growers and the interests of more than 300,000 farmers who contribute through corn checkoff programs in their states. NCGA and its 50 affiliated state associations and checkoff organizations work together to help protect and advance corn growers’ interests.
