The Senate Agriculture Committee voted Thursday to send to the full Senate the nomination of Sonny Perdue as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. The following is a statement from the National Corn Growers Association:
“Thank you to Chairman Roberts, Ranking Member Stabenow, and the Committee for moving quickly to advance Governor Perdue’s nomination to lead USDA. The National Corn Growers Association is proud to support Governor Perdue, and we stand ready to work with him and the rest of the Trump Administration on trade, renewable fuels, risk management programs, and other issues important to our members. We urge the Senate to confirm Governor Perdue as soon as possible.”

The Soil Health Partnership (SHP) is a farmer-led initiative that fosters transformation in agriculture through improved soil health. Administered by NCGA the partnership has more than 220 working farms enrolled in 16 states. SHP’s mission is to utilize science and data to partner with farmers who are adopting conservation agricultural practices that improve the economic and environmental sustainability of the farm.
